

Soccer outdoor training
Outdoor training will occur at Mount Carmel and Rollie Miles soccer complexes. Indoor training will be held at the indoor soccer center with a focus on outdoor tactical development and specific skill development.
Training Sessions will also include inter squad games and exhibition games against local club teams and other academy programs. Training will also prepare athletes to improve technical and physical skills necessary to improve their outdoor play. Exhibition games against other academies are scheduled to assess players in game situations. High intensity sessions designed to challenge each student/athlete and allow for individual development.
Soccer Fitness training
Fitness testing will occur and be recorded to see each student’s individual progress throughout the year. A variety of fitness test will be used like the Beep test, cooper test, sit-up test, and push-up test.
Other fitness components will also be focused in on like plyometrics, stretching, weight training, speed/agility circuit training, as well as aerobic and anaerobic training.
All fitness training will be done at the MTC fitness centre and gymnasium.
Students will also be educated on the benefits of sport and the effects foods have on our bodies.
Mental Training Student athletes will develop the mental part of their game through goal setting, relaxation and activation, visualization, focusing, leadership, and self awareness.
